Every week we see a whole slew of new titles on health and healing, and
few ever really grab us. One recent release, however, has captured my
attention and become something of a sleeper hit here at Adyar - when
this happens it's obvious that word of mouth is driving sales. The book
in question is Joyce Whiteley Hawkes' fascinating little book Cell Level
Healing. It's beautifully written and filled with practical
applications - the type of book that would be immensely useful to anyone involved
in a healing group, or who utilizes any type of spiritual healing
regularly. I have turned to the wonderf ul meditations again and again, and
have been surprised at how useful and inspiring this book has been.
The author, Joyce Hawkes, is one of those amazing people who have an
incredible background in conventional science, and has used this
knowledge to inform a whole other career in esoteric healing. Her wisdom draws
on many traditions, and the book reminds us that finding our own sense
of flow, our own natural life rhythm is essential to healing. She takes
a whole new look at our 'energy centers' (the chakras), and constantly
maintains a practical outlook - this book is really about empowering
the reader and encouraging you to take the next step on your journey as
a healer, and helps us all to bridge the gap between science and
spirit. If you are interested in healing, or are a healer yourself, then this
is the book to buy this year - concise, beautifully written and
endlessly fascinating.
